Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park

arangire National Park is one of Northern Tanzania’s hidden safari gems, famous for its giant baobab trees and large elephant herds. Located about 120 km southwest of Arusha, Tarangire is a key part of Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit. The park is named after the Tarangire River, which serves as the main water source for wildlife, especially during the dry season. From June to October, thousands of animals migrate into the park, making it one of the best places in Tanzania to see massive elephant gatherings. Tarangire is also home to lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, and over 500 bird species. Compared to Serengeti and Ngorongoro, Tarangire is less crowded, offering a more peaceful and authentic safari experience.
